Yes ladies the title is correct Roberto Cavalli is coming to H&M in November 2007, and I'm super excited I cant wait to see the collection!!!

Roberto Cavalli is coming to H&M this November! Everyone from Jessica Simpson to Beyonce to Christina Aguilera steal the spotlight when they wear this risque Italian designer's gowns.
Roberto Cavalli is known for his sexy animal prints and revealing cuts. Hopefully he will bring this flare to H&M, but now there won't be an expensive price tag. Be sure to get to the store as soon as possible because Cavalli's designs will only be available for a limited time. Cavalli will join the ranks of designers like Viktor and Rolf and celebrities like Madonna who have designed for the Swedish fashion line in the past. post via http://www.stylescoop.com/

to truly appreciate the role art has played and continues to play in the shaping of our culture.

FAB Clothing Store Boa!

I was walking around the Yonge and Lawrence area one weekend and I found this Fab boutique like store called Boa. At first I was like hmm the prices most likely will be outrageous, but I was pleasantly surprised! This cute store has some Fab clothes, ranging from one of a kind tops to some stunning dresses and unique bags. Not to mention the price, very frugal! I came out with 2 tops for under 60.00 dollars and I received rave reviews for their unique look. So ladies if your are tired of the same old stores in the mall and need to give your wardrobe a jolt you may want to take a trip to Boa! I had a chance to interview one of the owners Daphne to ask a little bit more about what Boa has to offer the style conscious diva!

When did you realize you wanted to open up a clothing store? About 6 months before I opened the store. I tried other areas of fashion, and I wasn't as successful, so I tried the one thing I knew best... retail.

Who does your clothing cater to? Young professional females, who are fashion conscious and savvy.

How did you begin Boa? Boa was started with me and my twin sister. We were serious about having our own business, and we both really enjoyed fashion. I started out with other unsuccessful ventures in fashion design, importing, then promotional apparel with her. None of them worked, thank goodness Boa did or that would have bruised my self confidence a bit.

Have and celebrities/VIP’s shopped at your store? Other then some local media personalities, we don't really cater to a celebrity crowd. We are a brand free, and price conscious boutique operation, so the combination doesn't work as well for a celebrity market.

Does Boa have more than one location? The 2nd is in the beaches, 2116B Queen St E.

What designers do you carry? No brands, fun pieces that not everyone has, at reasonable prices.

What is the price range for the items? Tops vary from $29-59, Accessories range, earrings from $10-20, Dresses usually under $100.

Do you carry accessories/handbags as well? Yes, we have developed a very good reputation for our unique well priced accessories.

Who is your target audience? Females between the ages of 21-45

How often do you get new shipment in? EVERY WEEK

Looking for a HOT fashion show to go to this weekend? look no more the Brighter Futures Fashion is happening July 14th at the Peridot Lounge(click flyer for additional details!) Proceeds for this event will go to building a resource center in Uganda for the youth in this region.
So if your looking to see some of Toronto's hottest designers such as Jacquelene Clarke and Randy Mcknob along with contributing to a great cause this show is for YOU! Along with that Ugandan artist David Kabuuka will be there showcasing his work. I had a chance to ask the event organizer Shehan M. details about the event check it out!

(Click flyer to view bigger)

How did you come up with concept of the Brighter Futures Fashion show?I've been involved in philanthropic activities for many years and going back to my days as a counselor I've always wanted to work with youth. I come from a long line of teachers so the importance of education and knowledge in creating your dreams have always been stressed to as I was growing up. Two years ago I had the please of meeting Caroline Abeja, then president of the Rotary club of south Kampala. Her presentation on the conditions of the northern districts of Uganda and the effect it had on the people and more importantly the children moved me a great deal. She explained that the children of Lira (a northern district) had no where to get a proper education b/c the schools were being used house the thousands for displaced people who fell victim to the ongoing civil war. As a result, these children were not prepared to write the nation wide exams which allowed them to pursue higher education. The Rotary club of south Kampala were in the process of building a resource center to help combat this problem. After speaking with her a great deal I was motivated to do anything I could to help this cause.
I firmly believe we have the power to create our futures IF we are given the right tools. Can you imagine how much brighter a child's future could be if they were given the proper tools? And thus the idea for Brighter Futures was born

Where will the proceeds for the event be going?
All proceeds will go to help the resource center. Approximate cost to operate this center for one year is $10,000 US. This does not include the cost to procure books and other materials.

Who will be the designers/artist showcased?
The designers will be Randy Mcnob and Jacquelene Clarke both of whom I've know for many years. Both are up and coming designers and I'm very happy and blessed to be working with them. Also, David Kabuuka, a world renowned Ugandan artist will have his art displayed during the event.

Will there be more events like this from this organization in future?
Absolutely!! We hope to make this a semi-annual event (spring/fall) going forward. The cause however will change as other opportunities arise.

What do you hope to accomplish out of an event like this?
I would like to bring awareness to the conditions the youth have to endure not only around the world but also here in Toronto.
